My Story…
In 2016, I was the first Boston Marathon runner for Spark Kindness. The organization was new to me, and I was struck by its mission to “build a kind, resilient and welcoming community where no one feels alone, bullied, unsupported or unconnected.” Fundraising and running the Boston Marathon for Spark is a memory that I hold dear, and the experience of getting to know the organization and the community that supports it made me want to stay connected.
After running the marathon, I had the privilege of serving on the Spark Board of Directors, and then later offered small-group programming to support parents of middle schoolers. I know Spark’s mission and the Spark community well, and 9 years later believe deeply in this organization.
As a child/adolescent psychologist, the clinical director of a community mental health agency, and, perhaps most importantly, a parent of three children, I see the value in a resource like Spark. During these post-pandemic times where feelings of isolation and disconnection linger, Spark offers effective strategies and resources to promote caring and resilient communities in Metrowest Boston.
I am delighted to be running as a part of Spark’s Inaugural Falmouth Road Race Team on August 17! Please join me in supporting this amazing community organization by donating to my run. My minimum goal is to raise $1000, but we all know I’m an over-achiever! Together we can support a strong community built on a foundation of kindness and justice!
For those of you who were with me in 2016, maybe #selfiesforSPARK will make a resurgence if we are lucky! xoxo!

At Spark Kindness, our mission is simple: to build a kind, resilient, and welcoming community where no one feels alone, bullied, unsupported, or unconnected.
Spark was founded in 2010 as a grassroots effort to prevent bullying and cyberbullying. Today, we're a community of 9,000+ members! We provide free, accessible educational programs and resources focused on prevention, mental health, and overall well-being. Spark builds awareness around issues in communities and creates positive partnerships to support individuals and families.
