My Story…
On November 9, 2018 (the day after our son, Bodey was born) Bodey required a quick and typical procedure which Chris accompanied him to. Within a short time, while I myself was receiving my second blood transfusion since hemorrhaging during child birth, a doctor came into the room to inform me that Bodey had developed a condition called petechiae which indicates a low platelet count. After Bodey’s blood was tested it was determined that his platelets were in the single digits and he required treatment in Boston. Boston MedFlight was already present at the hospital to take Bodey and Chris to Massachusetts General Hospital to start his treatment. While on their way to Boston, Bodey began to experience unexpected seizures with unknown effects on Bodey’s life and development. The BMF staff stabilized Bodey en route to Boston so that he could then receive care at MGH. We express gratitude everyday for the members of Bodey’s BMF team who helped save his life.
