OUR FINISH LINE SAYS ALS DONE!
I started this running journey in early 2018, simply because I realized, after a routine health test, that I was wasting my exceptional health (hadn't had so much as a fever since high school). I never exercised, didn't care about proper sleep and ate like I was 23. In the ensuing months I dropped 40 pounds, and what I thought was simply a wakeup call and perhaps a phase led to numerous organized races, including two marathons.
But I also came to realize as I cruised along the trails that many would love to join me, but their bodies simply say no. I was fortunate enough to be able to rectify my situation before it turned bad. What better way to utilize this gift I gave to myself than to help find a cure for this insidious disease, so others have a chance at enjoying life.
