I'm running the 53rd ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
Hello! My name is Keith Shaffer, and I proudly serve as the Director of Marketing for Foundations Group Recovery Centers on Cape Cod. As someone dedicated to making a difference, I am thrilled to be participating in the Falmouth Road Race once again to support an organization that holds a special place in my heart: the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.
Running the Falmouth Road Race in 2021, 2022, and now again in 2024 has been more than just a personal challenge—it's been an opportunity to make a lasting impact for causes I care deeply about. Through my own recovery journey, I’ve experienced the transformative power of community, support, and service. These values have inspired me to give back, fueled by a desire to help people in need.
Over the past few years, I've seen firsthand the immense challenges families face when confronting a cancer diagnosis. The grueling tests, hospital procedures, long treatments, and overwhelming fear they endure are unimaginable. As a parent, my heart aches for those families navigating such complex and emotional battles.
In recovery, we learn about powerlessness and acceptance—lessons that remind me that, while we can’t change the past, we can channel our energy into making a positive difference. That’s exactly why I’m running for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. This incredible organization changes lives by easing the financial burdens of families impacted by cancer, providing emotional support, and offering essential resources as they fight through one of life’s toughest challenges.
Last year, I had the privilege of running on behalf of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, and I’m honored to renew my commitment to raising much-needed funds in 2024. This work truly matters, and I couldn’t be prouder to support this courageous and inspiring community.

Description
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages, any cancer, throughout New England who are struggling financially due to a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that everyday living expenses don’t stop because of a diagnosis, and JAF provides various programs to help patients make ends meet. Because patients and families must often devote all their energy and resources toward treatment, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage, transportation to treatment, food, and more. Through our Assistance Programs, the grant recipients can focus on their cancer treatment and not the financial distress that comes with it.
