Hi everyone!

This year I'm running my second Falmouth Road Race for Maria Droste Counseling Services! Every dollar we raise will help provide critical counseling services to individuals and families who might otherwise go without care. Mental health should never be a privilege—it’s a necessity.

Working on an inpatient unit in a hospital setting, I see a lot of patients who are not equipped with coping mechanisms or support to help them through challenging and unexpected health and life events, and could have changed the course of their lives had they had accessible mental health sooner.

91% of MDCS clients utilize their sliding fee scale because they have no health insurance, because of long waits at other agencies, or because they are burdened with high insurance deductibles & copays, all of which pose barriers to regular, sustained mental health treatment
