My Story…
I’m choosing to run in support of Recovery Without Walls for personal and professional reasons. As the program director of the Martha’s Vineyard Youth Task Force, I believe in supporting the entire Cape and Islands community in its journey to recovery.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, I know how important and effective a holistic approach is to the healing process. I believe deeply in the work of RWW and women’s right to free recovery services.
My personal story involves a number of family and friends affected by substance use disorder. I believe that there is no shame in experiencing substance use disorder and should only be pride in the recovery process. I hope we can reduce the stigma around recovery for all of our community, especially the children. If we are open and communicative about SUD, we can prevent or identify SUD more effectively.
