Hi All,

I am running the Falmouth Road Race to support The Boston House: Hope & Healing for Children with Cancer for the second year!  The Boston House serves as a home away from home for children with Cancer who are receiving treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children's Hospital. 

I work at Dana-Farber and often walk by the Jimmy Fund clinic where children with cancer receive treatment. It breaks my heart that children have to experience the terror that is cancer. The Boston House is a charity that provides a safe haven for children and their families to rest and recover while going through cancer treatment.

The Boston House provides conveniently located accommodations minutes away from Dana-Farber at no cost to up to 22 families at a time. The Boston House provides a safe space for children with Cancer to rest, recover, and have a sense of normalcy away from the hospital. Some notable facts about the Boston House:

The Boston House can serve up to 22 families a night, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

The Average length of stay at The Boston House in 2024 was 9 days at $0 cost for families, allowing families experiencing childhood cancer to save around $2,250

The Boston House serves around 100 families a year on average from all over the United States and other countries.
