My Story…
For as long as I can remember, I have been inspired by the Boston MedFlight team. I grew up on the South Shore, and I would often see the BMF rotors landing and taking off from my elementary school's parking lot. It was not until I had become older that I fully understood the work and dedication that Boston MedFlight has to their patients, but also to the community as a whole.
I currently work in the Emergency Department at Boston Children's Hospital, where I often see the Boston MedFlight team arriving with critically ill patients. The team is able to provide a top level of care, whether it is between hospitals or straight from the field, like a mini hospital in the sky or on the road. Not only does Boston MedFlight provide excellent clinical care to patients, but they also offer an unmatched level of emotional support for the patients and families that they take care of. The care and level of service provided by each and every member of the BMF team is impeccable.
Most of us in the community truly do not know how lucky we are to have a valuable resource like Boston MedFlight until we are put into situations where we need them. This August, I am running the Falmouth Road Race to raise money for one of New England's most important resources, that way they can keep on with their mission of bringing the best care to our community and saving lives.
