My Story…
My daughter Caroline and I are running the Falmouth Road Race to benefit Tommy’s Place in honor of Emily Butt.
Emily was a dear friend of our family and the same age as our youngest daughter, Claire. The two first met at the hockey rink, cheering on their older sisters from the sidelines. They quickly became partners in crime and later found themselves in the same kindergarten class, where their bond continued to grow.
In 2021, Emily was diagnosed with leukemia. During her courageous fight, she and her family were invited to spend a magical week at Tommy’s Place in Falmouth. The joy and memories from that time are truly priceless.
Emily passed away in February 2024 but continues to live on in our hearts. We’re running in her memory and raising funds so that more children like Emily—and their families—can experience the healing and joy that Tommy’s Place provides.
