My Story…
I am honored to run for the New England Hemophilia Association (NEHA) in the Falmouth Road Race this year! Supporting this community is very personal to me as hemophilia has been a part of my family’s story for generations. I’ve seen firsthand the challenges families face and the difference that strong community support and access to specialized care and resources can make.
Recent cuts to the CDC’s Division of Blood Disorders and Public Health Genomics have impacted the bleeding disorders community. On April 1, 2025, HHS restructured the CDC, placing nearly all staff from the division on administrative leave and dismantling key programs. Budget reductions have also hit Hemophilia Treatment Centers and NBDF grants, limiting resources for patient organizations and local chapters like NEHA. These cuts put vital treatment centers, research, and community support at risk, threatening the health, safety, and future of individuals living with bleeding disorders.
Running for NEHA allows me to raise both awareness and funds to ensure that those living with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders continue to have access to community support and resources, such as NEHA's Family Camp, advocacy network, and Emergency Assistance Fund, that they deserve.
Thank you for helping make a difference in a community that is very close to my heart!
