Help Joy raise money

I am so excited to be on Team Make-A-Wish 2025!!! Make-A-Wish MA and RI is an amazing charity that helps children with life threatening medical conditions have their wishes come true.

I grew up in Belmont, MA and I now live in Weston, MA with my husband Richard Jr. and our two sons, Richard III (18) and Christian (12).

I love being a Mom! My family is the main focus of my life, but I also enjoy being an orthodontist and have an orthodontic practice with a great staff and wonderful patients in Medford, MA.

My 18 year old son Richard III ran the Falmouth Road Race last year for Make-A-Wish MA and RI and he had so much fun that he inspired me to run it with him this year (although he will run it twice as fast as me)!!! 😊

Unfortunately, I know first hand the challenges that a family faces when a beloved family member has a life threatening medical condition. My father was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995 at age 59 and my husband Richard Jr. was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in 2017 at age 52. Then, at the end of last year in December 2024, the unimaginable happened; my always healthy 18 year old son Richard III (who is also running the Falmouth Road race) very suddenly went into septic shock and ended up in the Massachusetts General Hospital Pediatric ICU and was hospitalized for 10 days, followed by an appendectomy in March. Our entire family will never forget the extreme fear and anxiety we felt during the time of Richard's illness.

Therefore, I am more motivated than ever to be on Team Make-A- Wish 2025 so I am able to help bring happiness and joy  to these critically ill children and their families.
