Where my life began.

Almost 4 years ago, I had my beautiful son Wyatt. The most perfect baby I ever laid my eyes on. In those first two weeks of having Wyatt we noticed something extremely different with him. As any parent would do, we rushed him to the hospital. To find out, later that evening, Wyatt had SVT(supra-ventricular tachycardia). My world shattered as I was a first time mom with no idea what SVT even was. We spent 11 days with Wyatt in the PICU, finding what would work for his little body. Being discharged from the hospital brought so much fear, not knowing if I would be able to detect episodes or when the next one would come. 

Fast forward to today, Wyatt is a true warrior. A happy 3.5 year old with so much love in his heart you would never know what he had been through and still faces today. 

During that first year of Wyatt’s life, I personally faced PPD and PPA. I struggled within trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel. I was then introduced to the heart warrior foundation from a mutual friend and heard about the Falmouth Road Race. I had to do it. Did I enjoy running at the time? Absolutely not. Was I going to train and show Wyatt just how strong I am? Hell ya! “Sign me up” 

From that first training run to date, I have raced in Falmouth each year, I have completed the Dopey Challenge in Disney x2, multiple Disney World and Disney Land challenge race weekends, with dozens of local 5k, 10k, and half marathons! Running has truly changed my life and opened so many new opportunities. I have met so many wonderful people and found family within most of them.. especially my Sneakerama family! 

In summary, thank you for taking the time to read my story and come to this page! There are so many individuals, and their families that live through the challenges of CHD everyday!
