My Story…
Hi, I'm Marlee! This year, I’m lacing up my altra's to raise $1,500 for Dogs for Better Lives, an incredible organization based in Falmouth, MA, that’s changing lives — both human and canine.
Whether you're a lifelong dog lover, someone who’s seen how transformative a service animal can be, or you just believe in creating a more compassionate world, you can be part of this mission. Please consider donating as every dollar goes directly to DBL!
Thank you for your support — it means the world to me and to the lives you’re helping change!!!
A little bit about me...I am a mechanical and bioengineering student at Northeastern University. This is my first Falmouth Road Race and actually my first race all together! When I am not studying or working, you will likely find me out skiing in the wintertime, cooking in the "kitchen" of my studio apartment, or spending quality time with family, friends, and my childhood dog (pictured below).
Description
Dogs for Better Lives trains and places Assistance Dogs free of charge with deaf or hard-of-hearing adults, children diagnosed with autism, and licensed professionals working with vulnerable communities so people with disabilities can lead safer and more independent lives. Our Northeast Training Campus opened in 2022 in Falmouth, and we're very excited to have a team of runners in the 53rd Falmouth Road Race, for a fourth year!
The average cost to train a service dog is $54,000 but we place our dogs at zero cost to our clients. Every dollar you raise for Dogs for Better Lives will go programmatic expenses.
