Thank you so much for stopping by my fundraising page!

This summer, I’m running the Falmouth Road Race with Team End ALZ in honor of my wonderful Gran, Molly Stanley, who we lost to Alzheimer’s in 2022.

Growing up, Gran remembered everything—sometimes more than I wished she would! She never forgot a birthday, a childhood story, or even a slightly embarrassing moment from high school. Even in her later years, she’d ask me about things I hadn’t thought about in ages. She loved sharing stories about her childhood in England and living through World War II, as well as tales from my mom’s and her siblings’ lives growing up all over the world. She taught me how to drive, how to laugh at myself, and that almost anything feels better after a good cup of tea.

Gran's ability to remember everything is what made her diagnosis so difficult. At first, she forgot the little things. Then the big things started to fade—like not remembering she’d met my oldest son, or that she was at my wedding. Eventually, she would even mistake me for someone else. That’s the heartbreak of Alzheimer’s—you begin to lose someone you love while they’re still right there with you.

That’s why this race means so much to me. I’m running to help create a future without Alzheimer’s. The money raised for Team End ALZ and the Alzheimer’s Association supports critical research, caregiver resources, and the hope of a cure.

Gran would’ve been thrilled to know I’m running in her honor—she loved any excuse to brag about her grandkids!
