Hi everyone! I am proud to share that I am running the 2025 Falmouth Road Race as part of Team End ALZ, in loving memory of my dad who lost his battle with Early-onset Alzheimer's in 2023. He was just 57 years old.
In 2013, at age 47, my dad was full of life when he was diagnosed with Early-onset Alzheimer's. I was only in middle school and had to learn what it meant to lose someone I love -while he was right in front of me. For the next 10 years my family experienced the full weight of this disease. He slowly lost his memories, ability to do everything he loved, and his independence. But through it all, kept his smile, remained brave, and full of love.
Running this race is my way of honoring my dad's life. Alzheimer's didn't just change his life- it changed mine and the lives of everyone who loved him. I'm running for the families who are currently going through what my family went through, and for a future where Alzheimer's no longer takes our loved ones away.
Growing up my dad was my biggest supporter and fan, especially at my soccer games. I know if he was still with us, he would be waiting at the finish line cheering me on. Thank you for your support!!
