Hello family and friends! I am proud to share that I am running the 2025 Asics Falmouth Road Race on Sunday, August 17th to support the Alzheimer's Association! I have seen the devastating effects of this horrible disease.

Sadly, my mother has been struggling with Alzheimer’s disease over the last several years.  In my 20s, I watched as my mother helped care and support my Nana with this same disease.  There are no words to describe watching a loved one lose their words, their memories, their independence to do tasks they have loved all their life.  Our family struggles with not only supporting my mom, but also ensuring that our dad, her primary caregiver, is coping with all the emotions and difficulties that come along with caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease.  

I run in hopes that with more research, there will someday be a cure and a 1st survivor.  I run for the caregivers, who need more support and resources than currently are available.  I run for all families affected by this disease, just like ours, and hope that in the future no family will have to endure the challenges that come with loving a family member with Alzheimer’s.   Your donations and support will give me strength with every stride!

Some facts you may not know:

-  Currently there are more than 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer's and over 11 million people providing unpaid care for them. 

-  This disease will cost the US over $345 billion in 2025. It kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. 

- 1 in 3 seniors die from it, two thirds of those living with Alzheimer's are women, and one in five women over 45 will be diagnosed. 

The first survivor of Alzheimer's is out there, but we need your help to find them.
