This August, I’m running my first Falmouth Road Race to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands.

I joined BBBS after moving to Falmouth 1.5 years ago and was matched with Mila, a kind, funny, creative 9 year old who brings so much joy into my life. Becoming a “big” reminded me how powerful it is to have someone in your corner — something I’ve always valued as a middle child with amazing siblings.

This year, I’ll be running alongside my actual big sister, Hannah. She said yes to this race the day she came home from the hospital in January. Through years of living with cancer, her strength reminds me what resilience truly looks like and how often it goes unseen.

I’ve never been a runner, but I’m choosing this challenge — because not all challenges in life come with a choice. BBBS ensures kids have the steady, supportive presence of a mentor when it matters most. Your donation will directly support this mission — whether it’s $5 or $500, every bit counts.
