My Story…
Our Story: Doug & Sam
Hi friends - we’re Doug and Samantha, and we’re running the Falmouth Road Race together this year to raise funds for Community Servings.
We’re running this race not just for ourselves, but for every person Community Servings helps. Every dollar raised helps provide nourishing meals to someone who truly needs them - and brings hope into homes that are facing unthinkable challenges.
From Doug:
A few years ago, my world turned upside down when I was diagnosed with cancer. During treatment, I saw firsthand how difficult it is to care for yourself while facing something so physically and emotionally draining. I was lucky - I had support, but not everyone does. That’s what led me to Community Servings. After I recovered, I joined their team because I deeply believe in their mission: delivering nutritious, medically tailored meals to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. It’s not just about food - it’s about dignity, care, and healing.
From Samantha:
I’ve called Falmouth home since I was five years old, and for as long as I can remember, running the Falmouth Road Race has been a dream of mine. This year, that dream means even more because I’ll be running it side by side with my incredible brother, Doug. Watching Doug go through cancer and come out stronger has been one of the most emotional and inspiring parts of my life. Now seeing him dedicate his career to helping others who are struggling is beyond moving. I’ve never been prouder of him.
If you’re able, we’d be so grateful for your support. Whether it’s $5 or $50, every bit helps us get closer to our goal - and closer to making a difference in someone’s life.
Thank you for cheering us on and believing in this mission!!
With love,
Doug & Sam
Description
COMMUNITY SERVINGS BELIEVES IN THE ASTONISHING POWER OF FOOD
Community Servings is a food and nutrition non-profit dedicated to providing medically tailored meals to individuals and their families suffering from critical and chronic illness. In their 35-year history they have provided over 14 million meals to our most vulnerable neighbors across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I am proud to partner with them and the Falmouth Road Race to raise funds and help to advance their mission and feed even more people too sick to shop or cook for themselves.
Community Servings' mission:
"Our mission is to actively engage the community to provide medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals to chronically and critically ill individuals and their families. We commit, in all our programs and business practices, to prioritize racial and economic justice and health equity."
$35 dollars feeds one of their clients for a full week;
