My Story…
Did you know that some girls from low-income families avoid playing sports because they do not have access to sports bras???
It's one of the many barriers eliminated by Good Sports — a nonprofit that donates brand-new equipment, apparel and footwear to kids in high-need communities. (And it happens to be where my brother Vaughn has worked for a total of 7 years!)
Kids who play sports have lower rates of depression, higher self-esteem, perform better on tests and are more productive at school. They learn teamwork, positive attitude, hard work, determination and grit.
But 7 out of 10 children at or below the poverty line are not participating in sports.
Why should kids be left on the sidelines because they can’t afford to play?
