My Story…
I've wanted to run the Falmouth Road Race for a while, and I’m so excited to finally do it—especially with Girls on the Run! As soon as I heard about the race, I was hooked. Running through such a beautiful town by the ocean just sounded like so much fun.
I was first introduced to running in third grade, when Girls on the Run came to my school. I asked my mom to sign me up right away, and I had an absolute blast. I loved the running, but even more than that, I loved the positive environment the coaches created. We learned so much more than just how to run—we learned confidence, teamwork, and how to support each other.
When our end-of-season 5K arrived, I couldn’t wait. Racing brought out a new, competitive side of me that I live for today. I also loved cheering on my teammates and watching everyone cross the finish line with pride. I participated in Girls on the Run for the next two years and got stronger and faster each time.
After I graduated elementary school, I jumped at the chance to join cross-country and track in middle school. I'm still running now as I head into eighth grade, and although it’s challenging, it’s also rewarding—that's what I love most about running.
I honestly don’t think I would have joined cross-country or track if it weren’t for Girls on the Run. The program introduced me to the best parts of running—from the health benefits for your body and mind, to the joy of setting and achieving goals.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to run the Falmouth Road Race and raise money for this amazing organization that started it all for me. Thank you so much for any support you can give!

Description
Girls on the Run is more than a running program. Through GOTR's program, trained coaches implement the research-based curriculum that builds lifelong healthy habits. Girls learn the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of physical activity, as well as tools for navigating the challenges of adolescence. Each season concludes with a 5K event where the girls run at their own pace, giving them a sense of achievement and a framework for setting and achieving life goals.
