Help Cecilia raise money

My name is Cecilia Lemus. I moved to Massachusetts in 2013.  I am a passionate long-distance runner. I discovered running as a way to rebuild my abdominal strength after medical issues, and it transformed my life—it felt like being born again into a new world. I’m part of several running groups that promote mental health and personal empowerment for individuals who feel lost in this world. To us, exercise goes far beyond improving appearance or mood—it’s about raising awareness and offering support to those suffering in difficult circumstances, including people battling addiction and deep pain. This year, I will be running the Falmouth Road Race—an iconic 7-mile (approximately 11.3 km) coastal race in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The next event is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2025 The Samaritans on Cape Cod & the IslandsWikipedia.  I’m proud to run in support of the Rotary Club of Falmouth/Cape Cod. Their programs include:  

A Nepal Project in partnership with Her Future Coalition and Hasta Memorial School in Nuwakot, Nepal. They provide education, dormitory accommodations, solar power, library resources, vocational training, and agricultural initiatives for girls at high risk of trafficking or child marriage Rotary Club of FalmouthClubrunnerRotary Club Ending Human Trafficking.

A broader conservation and awareness effort coordinated with global Rotary Action Groups, reaching countries like India, Kenya, Nepal, and Ecuador. These programs focus on education, economic empowerment, and behavioral change to prevent trafficking .

Local efforts through Cape Cod PATH (People Against Trafficking Humans), which raises awareness, educates and collaborates with regional agencies to combat trafficking on Cape Cod Cape Cod PathCape Cod Path.

By participating in the Falmouth Road Race as part of the Rotary Charity Team, I’m helping raise funds and visibility for these initiatives that empower vulnerable girls and communities through education and opportunity.
