My Story…
My name is Shauna Cranitch and I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Children’s Hearing and Speech Centre (CHSC). I’m reaching out to you today, as I’m participating in the BMO Vancouver Marathon in May, and I’m hoping to raise funds for CHSC in the process. I am registered with Run4Hope, the charity program of the BMO Vancouver Marathon, which aims to raise funds for social impact and community good.
CHSC supports children who are deaf or hard of hearing across British Columbia in developing the spoken language skills they need to connect with the world around them. While modern hearing technology provides access to sound, it’s only part of the picture. Without early, specialised support, many children can miss critical stages of language development. CHSC works closely with families from the very beginning, helping children build communication, confidence, and connection during the most crucial developmental years of their lives. That’s why I’ve chosen to support CHSC through this year’s marathon.
Last year, 9 runners in the BMO Vancouver Marathon helped raise over $7,000 for CHSC, supporting early intervention programs, technology, and family-centred services. I’m hoping to help build on that impact this year. With race day approaching, I would be so grateful for your support. Any amount truly makes a difference for children and families served by CHSC.
