My Story…
Why I’m Running in Support of Employ to Empower
This year, I’m running the BMO half-marathon in support of Employ to Empower! I’m choosing to fundraise for this amazing organization because I believe that everyone deserves access to opportunity, dignity, and the tools to build a life on their own terms. Employ to Empower supports entrepreneurs who face systemic barriers by creating space for individuals to lead, grow and thrive. Individuals like Julie Melanie - a sewist, entrepreneur ,and proud resident in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

They collaborate with people facing systemic barriers by offering entrepreneurial skills-building, mentorship, and community engagement programming. Their programs empower people facing barriers such as disability, mental health challenges, and substance use to foster economic inclusion, confidence and belonging, so that they can become active contributors to their communities.
How You Can Help
By donating to my run, you’re not just supporting me on race day — you’re helping create access, opportunity, and pathways forward for entrepreneurs across our community. Every contribution, big or small, helps ensure that talent and potential are never limited by barriers.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
