I’m running the BMO Marathon in support of the BC Cancer Foundation’s Patient Relief Fund. 

As a Radiation Therapist at BC Cancer, I see firsthand the strength and courage of patients facing cancer every single day. Alongside the immense physical and emotional challenges, many patients struggle with the financial burden that comes with treatment—whether it’s paying for pain or symptom management medications, covering the cost of travel and accommodation when treatment requires them to be far from home, or even affording basic necessities like groceries.

No one should have to choose between their health and their financial stability. That’s why the Patient Relief Fund is so important. It provides immediate, practical support to help patients focus on what matters most: their treatment and recovery. This fund also addresses critical equity gaps, with a dedicated portion supporting Indigenous people who are disproportionately impacted by these challenges.

By supporting my marathon fundraiser, you’ll be helping patients in BC directly—providing relief in some of their most difficult moments. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference in the lives of those facing cancer.
