Bunbury Cross Country Volunteer Requirement, Roles and Responsibilities
As part of your registration, it is a requirement in order to be eligible for an award at end of season that at least one member of your family volunteers for one of the available roles.
Roles and Responsibilities are as follows:
- Set Up Organiser:
- Responsible for taking trailer and/or necessary equipment to the event,
- Setting up 1.5km, 2.5km, 5km and 10km courses using cones,
- Arranging access to race location (ie Water Corp key for Shearwater/Ocean Drive Runs), Setting up timing system (Committee member available to assist),
- Welcome speech which will provide a brief track overview, communication of any hazards and sponsor thank you.
- Timing Assistant:
- Responsible for noting any race distance changes communicated by members prior to the event and updating race start list, and
- Overseeing timing of the event on race day ensuring all bibs are recorded, noting any anomalies.
- Pack Up:
- Responsible for collecting all cones, bunting and signage and packing up neatly in trailer/vehicle following event completion.
- Photographer:
- Responsible for taking photos of the event including location, participants etc and uploading onto the Bunbury Cross Country Facebook page (ensuring any participants with crossed arms are not included in uploaded photos).
