My Story…
I’ll be running for a lot of reasons. First of all, I’m blessed to be able to run. And while I said I would never run a marathon, it’s time to flip the script and challenge myself like never before. Life is precious, and sometimes short. I’m running for those that have passed and the people around me that work through challenges every day which may prevent them from running. Mostly, I am running to elevate awareness around cancer. ♋️ Cancer has taken away many friends and family members and, given my wife’s (Dorotka) struggles with cancer, hits close to home. Who are Lymphoma Canada? - Dealing with lymphoma can be overwhelming, whether you’re a patient yourself or you know someone who is. But you don’t have to face it alone. We connect patients, their family and friends, medical professionals, researchers, volunteers, and donors to build a strong lymphoma community. A community that conducts research to learn lymphoma’s causes, to develop better treatments, and to find a cure. A community that helps people talk about and cope with the fifth most common cancer in Canada. A community that invites you to get and give support.
Description
THP welcomes 1.7 million patient visits a year in facilities originally built to serve half that number. We see more patients in our emergency departments and urgent care centre than almost any other Ontario hospital. In the next two decades, our community will grow by a million more people, and half of our population will be living with at least one chronic condition such as diabetes, cancer or cardiovascular disease. While to Ontario government funds operations, community support is key to secure new technologies, especially for unplanned needs. Your support will help us support a growing population and offer a new kind of health care for a healthier community.
