This is my why. 

I’m angry that I ever needed support from the crisis center. Angry that domestic violence is something so many people still endure in silence. Angry that I will never see the world the same way again. It changes you in ways that are unexplainable. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

But I’m also deeply grateful.

Grateful for this place that helped me and my family find safety and strength again. They changed my life. From the initial crisis to the court appearance, they were by my side every step of the way.
