My Story…
Running for a Reason – In Memory of My Mom
This year, I’m running The Pittsburgh Half Marathon 2026 in honor of someone who meant the world to me—my mom, Irene Rankin. She bravely battled Alzheimer’s, and while she is no longer with us, her strength, love, and spirit continue to inspire me every day.
Alzheimer’s doesn’t just take memories—it takes people we love far too soon. That’s why I’m proud to run and raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, an organization working tirelessly to support families, fund research, and one day find a cure.
Every mile I run is for her. Every dollar raised brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. If you can, please consider donating—no amount is too small. Your support means the world to me and to so many families affected by this disease.
Thank you for helping me keep her memory alive and make a difference.
