My Story…
Every step I take on May 4th at the Pittsburgh Half Marathon means something bigger than the finish line.I’m running 13.1 miles to raise funds for the Homeless Children’s Education Fund (HCEF) — an organization dedicated to making sure every child, regardless of their housing situation, has access to the education they deserve. As a teacher, I see first hand how instability at home shows up in the classroom. I’ve watched children and families fight through impossible circumstances while still showing up, still trying, still hoping. That resilience inspires me every single day — and it’s exactly why I lace up and run.Every dollar donated goes toward giving a child a fighting chance — school supplies, support services, and the simple belief that their future matters. Description
Donate to help raise money for Homeless Children's Education Fund (HCEF) during Marathon Weekend. Your donation helps students break the cycle of homelessness through educational achievement. HCEF provides programming for students in kindergarten to age 24. Programming includes afterschool, tutoring support, social and emotional regulation, college and career prep, as well as enrichment, emergency funding and educational grants.
