My Story…

Let's get one thing straight: I am not a natural runner. For 21 years, my comfort zone was an ice rink, not a pavement trail. But I'm trading my skates for running shoes to take on the marathon this May for one simple reason: to fight back.

I’m running for the Mario Lemieux Foundation, an organization founded by my childhood hero. Growing up in Pittsburgh as a hockey player, #66 was the ultimate symbol of resilience and excellence. His battle with cancer and his commitment to helping others fight their own is a legacy I am incredibly proud to support.

This cause hits close to home. My family has seen the devastation of cancer firsthand, and as a medical student with hopes to go into oncology, I am deeply rooted in this fight. But the fight can't wait. It starts now.

Every grueling training run, every early morning, and every dollar raised is for the patients and families who are in challenging medical situations. My challenge is temporary. Theirs is not. I’m pushing my limits so we can help ease theirs.

Please donate to help me raise money for the Mario Lemieux Foundation as part of the 2026 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Run for a Reason program!

Since their founding in 1993, the Mario Lemieux Foundation has been focused on finding a cure for cancer by funding research and patient care, and supporting families in challenging medical situations. Through ongoing projects at the Mario Lemieux Center for Blood Cancers, the Mario Lemieux Lymphoma Center, the Mario Lemieux Immunotherapy Center, and the recently established Mario Lemieux Center for Heart Rhythm Care, we support research that translates to clinical trails and innovative therapies that save lives.
