My Story…
Hi friends and family! Welcome to my Fundraising Page! For my second time around with the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, I've chosen to run for a charity that is close to my heart.
Running this half marathon on May 3 means more to me than just crossing a finish line. If you know me, you know I rescued a tiny kitten named Indigo this year, and she’s brought more joy into my life than I ever expected.Thanks to Animal Friends, I wasn’t navigating her care alone. They guided me through her vaccinations, spay, and testing, and treated us with such kindness and efficiency — all at a cost that made responsible pet care truly accessible.
Their mission — to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in crisis; ensure healthy pets through education, advocacy, and affordable services; and celebrate the animal‑human bond — is something I’ve now experienced firsthand. I love my kitty deeply, and knowing she’s safe, healthy, and protected is a gift every pet owner deserves. Not everyone can afford vet care, and spaying and neutering is essential to reducing the overwhelming number of animals who need homes, especially cats. Animal Friends even offers free spay and neuter services for those who bring in neighborhood, stray, or feral cats.
That’s why I’m running for Animal Friends. I’ve set a fundraising goal of $400, which covers the cost of my race entry and goes directly toward supporting the work that helped my Indy — and thousands of others — get the care they deserve.
