My Story…
This year, I’m running the back half of the marathon in support of the Mario Lemieux Foundation, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
Over the years, I’ve witnessed several people I love battle blood cancers, and sadly, not all of them won their battle. This mission means more to me than I can fully put into words. Thanks to advancements in treatment and the amazing work of Dr. Agha and his team at the Mario Lemieux Center, my Dad (diagnosed in 2022), is now in remission and feisty as ever.
The Mario Lemieux Foundation funds research, patient care, and support for families facing blood cancer battles. They are giving patients hope — and a real chance to win their fight.

Since their founding in 1993, the Mario Lemieux Foundation has been focused on finding a cure for cancer by funding research and patient care, and supporting families in challenging medical situations. Through ongoing projects at the Mario Lemieux Center for Blood Cancers, the Mario Lemieux Lymphoma Center, the Mario Lemieux Immunotherapy Center, and the recently established Mario Lemieux Center for Heart Rhythm Care, we support research that translates to clinical trails and innovative therapies that save lives.
