My Mission
After about ten years off of marathon running, I am coming back to run for Work!
Why I’m Running for WORK in Haiti
I’m running to support WORK, an organization with a simple, powerful goal: placing heads of households in Haiti into good, dignified jobs so families can lift themselves out of poverty for good.
WORK walks alongside families in the Menelas community of Port-au-Prince, addressing health, education, debt, and housing first—then providing job training and placement, followed by ongoing support until families no longer need assistance.
There are 3,000 family members still waiting for dignified work. Every mile I run helps move one family closer to stability and independence.
“Piti, piti, wazo fè nich li.”
Little by little, the bird builds its nest.
Description
I'm excited to join WORK's Run For A Reason charity team for the Pittsburgh Marathon. WORK is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to accompany families in Haiti out of poverty through good, dignified jobs. I'm proud to be a part of this event, take on this challenge and connect my love for running with a purpose. Please support me by making a donation to my fundraiser. Every dollar counts.
