My Story…
Cancer touches everyone's lives. I've seen friends and family have their lives permanently altered by this terrible disease. But I firmly believe that the innovation within the bounds of the Steel City stands as a bulwark against this illness. I know this not simply because I have seen the world-class cancer research come out of regional institutions, but because my mom has spent her life tirelessly working to study this disease using cutting edge techniques at the University of Pittsburgh's Hillman Cancer Center. My family doesn't just study cancer; my own grandfather was given next-generation immunotherapy treatment at the Hillman Cancer Center. And as a scientist, I believe that it is institutions like the Hillman Cancer Center that will help us get the upper hand against cancer- because they already are. That's why I'm running in the Pittsburgh Half-Marathon to support Rush to Crush Cancer, an organization that supports this lifesaving research at the Hillman Cancer Center. Humbly, I ask you to donate in support of this cause.
