My Story…
At ARYSE, we work alongside immigrant and refugee youth as they build confidence, strengthen their skills, and shape their own futures. As one of the founders and executive director, I'm very proud and grateful to tell you that the impact of our work is real, lasting, and transformative.
This year, I’m hoping to raise $2,000 to help make something new and really meaningful possible. Alongside my colleague Meg, we're traveling with two of our students to Washington, D.C. for an advocacy day where they’ll receive training on how to share their stories and speak directly with legislators. They’ll be helping policymakers better understand the experiences of forcibly displaced communities in the U.S.—in their own words.
It’s the first time we’re doing this, and we hope to make it an annual opportunity for youth to step into advocacy, build their voices, and shape the systems that impact their lives.
Every mile I run is for that vision. And every donation helps make this trip—and future opportunities like it—possible.
If you’re able to give, thank you for being part of this with me 💛
Description
This year, our goal is to raise at least $30,000 through the marathon campaign, which will cover the essential expenses for our program like student transportation, interpretation and translation services, hot meals, and personnel. Thanks to donations from hundreds of individuals and local foundations, the program is completely free of cost to participants. Support from our marathon runners and their networks will help us keep it that way.
