I Run to Cure CF!
This cause is especially close to my heart because I previously had the honor of being named a Pittsburgh’s Fifty Finest Honoree, where I raised funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. That experience meant so much to me — and I’m proud to continue supporting this incredible mission.
This 13.1-mile walk is also my postpartum fitness goal — a way to challenge myself, rebuild my strength, and do something bigger than me while I’m at it. Every mile I train for will be dedicated to raising awareness and support for those living with cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, and the Breath Team works tirelessly to fund research, treatments, and ultimately a cure.
Description
Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic disease found in about 40,000 people in the U.S. causing persistent lung infections and limiting the ability to breath over time. Those living with this disease are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers --all struggling each day just to breathe and live normal, healthy lives.
While there has been significant progress in treating this disease, there is still no cure and too many lives are cut far too short. By participating in the Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, I run to help add tomorrows to the lives of all people living with cystic fibrosis today. Please make a difference and support me by donating to my fundraising campaign today!
