My Story…
If you would’ve told me a year ago that I would sign up for a half marathon in 2026, I would have never believed you - 13.1 miles? I couldn’t even recall the last time I ran 1 mile the whole way through. I went to support my brother in law at last year’s half marathon and again said, “there’s no way I could do that.”
Well isn’t it interesting how life can find a way to humble you? I ran a 5k over the 4th of July last year and found a new hobby. I loved learning how to run because it made me feel strong, which hasn’t always been the case. I’m excited to take on this new challenge with my boyfriend, Norman, and my brother in law, Josh, for our first half marathon together.
It would mean so much to me if you’ve read this far and if you would consider donating to the cause - I am running to raise money for the Light of Life rescue mission, a charity that has been near to our family since I was a little kid. I feel a pull to support the unhoused population and I love that Light of Life connects people to so many resources they wouldn’t have otherwise (support for women and children, meals, food pantry, community and more). If it’s not in the cards for you to donate, I would greatly appreciate any well wishes you have as I train myself to run long distances for fun 😊
