My Story…
Scott Hudson, a 74-year-old Fort Worth resident and lifelong runner, was a track athlete in high school, competing in the 200-meter, 400-meter, and long jump events, consistently finishing in the top ten. Despite his declining eyesight, Scott persisted in running, although not at the collegiate level. He went on to win a gold medal in 1986 for his performance in the 200 meter race at the Regional Masters Competition. In 1988, Scott ran his first marathon and continues to race in various half marathons. An all-around athlete, he also played goalball and beep baseball, earning induction into the Beep Baseball Hall of Fame for his 20 years of high level performance. In 2002, Scott was chosen to carry the Olympic torch in Fort Worth when the Winter Olympics were held in Utah. Now, he relies on different guides to help him accomplish his weekly mileage and shows no signs of slowing down. When he's not running, you can find Scott tending to his flowers, spending time with his wife Cherry, or enjoying long walks in nature, but you can never find him without a smile. Scott is a beacon of happiness and always encourages those around him!
