My Story…
There are a lot of reasons to run a marathon. For me, it’s about showing up for something that matters far beyond race day.
This year, I’m running the Pittsburgh Half- Marathon in support of Young Adult Survivors United (YASU)—an incredible organization dedicated to helping young adults navigate life after a cancer diagnosis.
Cancer doesn’t just impact your health—it disrupts your entire life. Careers pause, relationships shift, and the future suddenly feels uncertain. For young adults, those challenges can be even more isolating. That’s where YASU steps in—creating a community of support, connection, and hope for people who truly understand what each other is going through.
I’m running for the fighters, the survivors, and the stories that don’t always get told. I’m running for the strength it takes to keep going when life throws the unexpected your way.
I am running for my Mom, Amy, who was diagnosed with advanced triple-negative breast cancer at age 40 at her FIRST ever preventative screening.
Every mile through Pittsburgh—every hill, every bridge, every step—is a reminder that resilience is built one moment at a time. And while race day will be tough, it’s nothing compared to what so many young adults face in their cancer journeys.
Thank you for being part of this with me. Let’s make every mile count.
