My Story…
This year, I’m running the Pittsburgh Half Marathon for something bigger than just the finish line.
I’m supporting the Alliance for Refugee Youth Support and Education, an organization that helps refugee youth access education, mentorship, and the support systems they need to thrive in a completely new environment.
It’s easy to take opportunities for granted, but for many of these students, simply getting access to education is a major hurdle. This organization helps bridge that gap and gives them a real chance to succeed.
Every mile I run is a reminder of that mission. If you’d like to be part of it, I’d truly appreciate your support.
Description
This year, our goal is to raise at least $30,000 through the marathon campaign, which will cover the essential expenses for our program like student transportation, interpretation and translation services, hot meals, and personnel. Thanks to donations from hundreds of individuals and local foundations, the program is completely free of cost to participants. Support from our marathon runners and their networks will help us keep it that way.
