It is our privilege to run in memory of Wayne Younger and in support of Open Hand Ministries. Wayne and Doug met at Asbury University 36 years ago and maintained a close friendship. Serving the city of Pittsburgh through many different organizations over the years including serving as the Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Project, Wayne was most recently serving as the Executive Director of Open Hand Ministries. Wayne believed deeply in their mission which focused on “building generational wealth as well as affordable homeownership.” Wayne passed away on March 9th of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
