Our story…
The mission of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is to leverage the power of community to achieve lasting solutions to hunger and its root causes. By making a donation, you help us to support their mission!
Throughout the 11 counties surrounding Pittsburgh, there are more than 292,670 individuals experiencing food insecurity. This equates to 1 in 8 of our neighbors struggling with hunger- with children and elderly experiencing hunger at the highest rates.
The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank works with a network of community partners to help provide meals to neighbors in 11 Southwestern PA counties. Community support, whether it be a monetary donation or volunteer effort, facilitates the distribution of meals to neighbors in need of assistance, and helps serve nearly 40,000 neighbors on a monthly basis.
We are so excited to run as a Pittsburgh Marathon Relay Team this year in support of such an incredible organization! As former teammates on the Saint Vincent College Women's Lacrosse team, fundraising for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is a great way for us to compete together again and support our community. Description
With your support, we can ensure that none of our neighbors go to bed hungry. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can provide up to 3 nutritious meals for our neighbors in need. Every dollar brings us one step closer to a hunger-free community! Thank you in advance for your support.
