My Story…
For the 5th year I am taking part in the Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women in support of BC Women’s Health Foundation, raising funds for women’s mental health care at BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre.
I keep fundraising for this very important cause every year to help make a difference for women bravely facing mental health challenges every day. I am thrilled to say with your generous donations from last year, I was the top individual fundraiser in BC again.
Every dollar raised helps fund specialized mental health services designed for women, integrated into over 60 clinics and programs at BC Women’s for everything from postpartum depression and anxiety to menopause and chronic pain. These are essential services that thousands of women across BC and the Yukon rely on each year.
Run for Women 2026 will be held in Vancouver at UBC on May 9th. I have registered to do a virtual 10K run again along my favourite route, the KVR trail in Penticton. Training was going well up until a month ago and then I have had a series of setbacks. I have decided to go easy and do a walk/run this year and have my little running buddy, Lucy, join me :)
