In May 2026, I’ll be running the Cleveland Half Marathon with a purpose much bigger than the finish line. I’m running to raise funds for the American Cancer Society — an organization that means a great deal to me and my family. This past year, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Thanks to early detection, excellent care, and his incredible strength, he beat it. But the journey opened my eyes to how many families are impacted by cancer, and how vital support, research, and advocacy are in the fight against it. I'm setting a fundraising goal of $1,500 to help the American Cancer Society continue its mission — funding life-saving cancer research, providing crucial support services, and advocating for better public health policies. Every step I take in this race is for the fighters, the survivors, and the families who have been touched by cancer — and in honor of my dad. Why I Support the American Cancer Society
Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it’s inspired me to join this American Cancer Society event. Taking part in this event gives me the chance to make a difference and honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research and services for people dealing with cancer. I’m also participating to inspire hope for those facing the disease and raising money for the American Cancer Society's event to help save lives from cancer. I hope you’ll consider signing up too.
Funds raised support cancer patient programs and groundbreaking research that can help save lives. This event also celebrates over 18 million cancer survivors nationwide. 18 MILLION. That’s huge.
