My Story…
After being diagnosed at age 31 with Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer with a Secondary Cancer in my Abdomen in February; my life turned upside down in the best way possible. Cancer turned out to be a blessing in disguise due to all the support, new found mindset, lessons learned, and the new opportunities I was blessed with. I leaned into The Gathering Place for support and counseling through their Young Adult Program to help guide me through my cancer journey. With the unwavering amount of support, warmth, love, and spirit the Center provided me, I truly give credit to The Gathering Place for my success with my diagnosis. After a final surgery on November 4th to take down my colostomy bag, I am officially done with my cancer journey! I am so fortunate to be back running. This time around, I am running with a new purpose which is to advocate and give back to a place that kept me safe during a dark time. I’m so excited to represent Team TGP this year and the years to come. Here's to making history!
