Our story…
Team LMM's participation in the Cleveland Marathon 2026 is spearheaded by Benjamin Turney, Youth Resiliency Services program director, and Beth Sersig, volunteer and former board member. The event offers an opportunity to raise funds for LMM’s Youth Resiliency Services, which plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of youth who are experiencing housing instability in Cleveland.
Founded in 1969, as an ecumenical response to the urban uprising of the late 1960's, the mission of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) is inspired by our commitment to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly (Micah 6:8). Our mission is to challenge injustices faced by those who are oppressed, forgotten, and hurting by providing responsive solutions, voice and hope.
Over the last five decades, LMM has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to addressing chronic needs, enabling people in our community facing adversity to become self-sufficient, and championing for systems change. Our programming focuses on innovative and effective services in the areas of Guardianship, Housing & Shelter, Workforce Development, and Youth Resiliency.
