Why I'm running for rescues:
I officially signed up for the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon (the 26.2 mile one) again on April 25th, 2026. It was really challenging doing my first marathon this past year but thanks to a lot of amazing people, I was able to complete the race and we raised a lot of money for the Champaign County Humane Society. $440, exactly. I have since learned that this amount was roughly the cost of running the shelter each day.
I want to keep that going! I’ll be running to fundraise on behalf of the humane society again this next year, maybe we can out-fundraise what we did last year and maybe I can finish a little faster than 5 hours and 28 minutes?! Once I am able to share a fundraising link for the Humane Society, I will!
