My Story…
I am so excited to be participating in the Run for Women again this year! Here are the two main things you should know about me:
1. When I was in my second year of law school, I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa and was a patient in the Eating Disorder Program at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. The support I received there, along with the support of my family and friends, saved my life. Recovery is not linear—I still have hard days—but this year marks one full year in recovery from my eating disorder.
2. I am not a runner! In fact, I would say I am bad at running and have yet to fall in love with it as a hobby. Running a 10K is a scary idea for me, but I am hoping that you will all support my running and fundraising goals!
The money raised through the Run for Women helps support critical programming for women in Calgary and across Canada—women like me.
To mark the occasion of my one-year recovery anniversary, my goal is to raise $5,000. Thank you for your support!
