Langdon Walk & Run 2026

It is with a heavy heart, but also with hope for what comes next, that we share this update.

The 2026 Langdon Walk & Run, scheduled for June 7, must be cancelled. Registration numbers were far lower than expected this year, and despite every effort to make the event viable, we cannot run it in a way that maintains the spirit, safety, and quality our community deserves.

Participants now have two options through their Race Roster account:

• Switch to a virtual race — Complete your chosen distance anytime this summer, on a route that works for you. Track it with an app, bring your proof to the Library, and you’ll still receive your medal and a beautiful 100% cotton tote bag featuring the library logo.

• Request a refund — We will process refunds as quickly as possible.

We are truly sorry for this outcome. We had hoped that moving the event to June—aligning it with the Library’s anniversary—would create a fresh, celebratory connection after last year’s cancellation for the parking lot paving. Even though this year didn’t unfold as planned, we remain committed to the future of this event.

Over the coming months, we will be re-evaluating the race’s direction and exploring how it can continue to bring our community together in meaningful ways.

Langdon Walk & Run has had a bit of a change this year due to the timing of the paving of the parking lot in Langdon park. Instead of September - we are re-aligning the event with the anniversary of the Library and the event will take place in June 2026.

This year, we have added a few new features to our event - Teams and Fundraising! Get your whole family or work team involved and support our library in the process!

This family-friendly event supports our Library operations and is a truly fun part of our year! The race theme for 2026 is BOOK CHARACTERS!

Come dressed as your favourite character or rally your crew and go big with a team costume. Think Hogwarts, Hobbiton, ACOTAR, or your own library-inspired look — the options are endless!
