Raise money for YCC - Youth Centres of Calgary
YCC - Youth Centres of Calgary is a grassroots, “home away from home", an oasis located in communities where many of the children do not have access to safety, healthy role models and activities that many other Calgary kids have every day after school. We run our free programming after school every day and during the summer months we offer day camps.
YCC’s kids aged 8-15 (typically 30-40 a day at each centre) spend a few wonderful hours after school doing what kids love to do - hang out with friends, make new ones, learn and play sports. They gain wisdom from our 'cool' youth workers, practicum students and adult volunteers, have access to technology and homework help, music lessons, free sports equipment, games and art supplies. Kids are offered a secure and unlimited supply of food, and a healthy hot meal before they leave at 6:00pm, ready to take on the challenges of their lives.
We level the playing field for Calgary’s most vulnerable kids and offer them the opportunity to enhance their lives.
YCC's two centres are located in the SE communities of Ogden and Forest Lawn where we have the opportunity to enhance the lives of Calgary youth. ❤️
Your donation helps provide programs that give youth the opportunity to discover talents and to develop them so that they might excel outside of our centre and in the future. If nurtured in such a fashion over the years at our centre, some will be able to “make the high school team”, or apply for scholarship funding otherwise unavailable to kids who do not have opportunities.
Here’s how your donations make a difference:
$25 donation provides a wholesome bagged lunch for 6 kids
$75 donation covers the cost of fresh produce for a week at one of our 10 pop-up sites
$150 donation covers the cost of eggs and milk for a month at one of our 10 pop-up sites
$250 donation provides a nutritious breakfast for 80 kids during our free outdoor summer program
$500 donation covers the cost of fresh produce and groceries for two weeks at two of our pop-up sites
